  Brother of Hippocrates and fellow agent of Hannibal at Syracuse; made praetor, he held the city's defense against Marcellus while his brother fought in the field.

• The History of Rome, Book 25 §23 Epicydes

  Syracusan-Carthaginian leader (with Hippocrates) who held Syracuse against Rome; he abandons the city and withdraws to Agrigentum.

• The History of Rome, Book 26 §47 Epicydes

  Tyrant of Syracuse, colleague of Hippocrates; later flees Agrigentum with Hanno.

• The History of Rome, Book 27 §9 Epicydes

  A Syracusan-Carthaginian leader; veterans of his army are now enrolled by Rome in Sicily.
